Crosshatch โ Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 August 2026 ยท Spintech Studio
Crosshatch is a word game. This page says exactly what it collects, why it needs each thing, who else sees it, and how to have all of it deleted. It is written to be read rather than to be complied with.
Who we are
Spintech Studio publishes Crosshatch. For anything about this policy or your data, write to spintechstudio@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
| Your Google account name, email address and profile photo | Only if you sign in with Google. Your name and photo are shown to opponents so they know who they are playing. Your email address is how the account is identified if you change phone; it is never shown to another player. |
|---|---|
| A guest identifier | If you play without signing in, we create an anonymous account. It is not linked to you, only to the app on this device, and you appear to opponents as a generated name such as "Guest 4172". |
| Your games and statistics | Boards, moves, scores, rating, games played and won, and your daily scores. This is the game; without it there is nothing to come back to. |
| A notification token | So we can tell you it is your turn. Stored where no other player can read it, and removed when you sign out or turn alerts off. |
| An advertising identifier | Used by Google AdMob to show ads. Crosshatch is free and ads pay for it. |
| Crash diagnostics | If the app crashes, Google Crashlytics sends us the technical details of the crash so we can fix it. |
Who else sees it
- Other players see your display name, your photo if you have one, your rating, and the moves you make in a game with them. Anyone can see your name and score on the daily and rating leaderboards.
- Google processes it on our behalf: Firebase for accounts and game data, Google Cloud for the game server, AdMob for advertising, and Crashlytics for crash reports.
- Nobody else. We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.
Where it is kept, and for how long
On Google Cloud servers in India (asia-south1). Game data is
kept while your account exists. Finished games are kept so opponents keep their
own history of them. Crash reports are kept by Google for 90 days.
Deleting your account
You can delete everything from inside the app: open your profile, then Account, then Delete account. You do not need to email anyone. Deleting removes your profile, your rating and statistics, your daily scores, and your notification tokens. Games you have finished stay on your opponents' history with your slot anonymised, because they are their games too. Games in progress are resigned first, so nobody is left waiting on a player who is gone.
There is a page with the full detail, including what is kept and why: how to delete your account.
If you would rather we did it, write to spintechstudio@gmail.com from the address the account uses.
Advertising
Ads come from Google AdMob and may be personalised using your advertising identifier. You can reset or delete that identifier in your Android settings under Privacy โ Ads, and opt out of personalisation there. Ads never appear on the game board, and never after a game you lost.
Children
Crosshatch is for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from a child under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, write to us and we will remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or object to how it is used. Deletion is built into the app; for anything else, write to us and we will answer within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change takes effect. The date at the top is always the date of the current version.
